About Myself
I think we all have that single “first” that got us into whatever industry (or hobby!) that we are passionate about. Mine being wine, that first was a Pinot Gris from Alsace.
At first sip, this wine was subtle yet bright, with hints of pear, spice, and honeysuckle. The aroma of this wine immediately brought me back to being in Montana with my grandfather. It brought me back to the smell of forest, the smell of comfort, and the smell of not having a care in the world.
It also reminded me of my first experience foraging; which was searching for honeysuckles. The reward of finding the flowers, biting the bottom off, and carefully pulling the stem out to release the delightful nectar of the flower brought me back to such a joyous time in my life where I was full of curiosity and in awe of beauty all around me.
What I want to share with you is all of those experiences that wine can bring. There is more to life than just going through the motions. It’s the experience that we cultivate with friends, family, and even acquaintances along the way.
I recently visited Alsace in the Summer. I went to the same vineyard that produces the first wine that got me started in this business. The people were wonderful, the area was beautiful and I remember most distinctly that there were flowers everywhere.
The wine wasn’t exactly how I remembered it. Although that initial memory still exists, with time, there are now new meanings. There are new comforts, new joys, new sorrows, and new experiences that I am reminded of with just one smell.
Please join me, and we can be reminded of past memories, and create new memories that didn’t exist until that night.
I look forward to hearing from you.
